This page is written to inform teachers in Cohort 1 of the Citizen Math study – that is, teachers who have an opportunity to use Citizen Math lessons in the 2023–24 and 2024–25 school years. The study is comparing their student outcomes to those of students who are engaging in their typical classroom practices (students whose schools are in Cohort 2 of the study). This is because this research is building on a prior study, which showed that Citizen Math had an effect on student outcomes. With this study, our research team is assessing the impact of Citizen Math lessons and professional development within a larger and more diverse set of schools.
